Please Help: Sign "Project FIVER" Petition

From The Brobdingagian Bards,

(Edited) From Chris Kern (fan of The Bards):

Many of you may know my wife, Melissa Kern. She has helped with the Tolkien and Young Adult Literature tracks, helped plan the HP Yule Ball and infamous Pirate Party, and appeared in a well-known Dragon*Con TV commercial. But she has received some grave news. Melissa has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. It is progressive, incurable, and gradually paralyzes you. Average life expectancy is 3-5 years. In September, she marched with fellow LotR fans in the Dragon*Con parade, but now she needs my help walking, dressing and using stairs. We have a 6 year-old son and I'm not sure how much he knows. I wanted to do something for Melissa to her the impact she's had on people in the LotR, Pirates, HP and Dragon*Con communities. To that end, I have put together an online petition called "Project FIVER" (her website community name). It's a petition to have New Line cast her as an extra in THE HOBBIT. Even being a non-speaking crowd-hobbit in the background of one scene would mean the world to her. It would be her reason to hang on. If you wouldn't mind, please Go to ProjectFiver.com and sign the petition. Thanks for helping!
