Blue & Yellow Wand uploaded a new track entitled "Quaffle Ball on CD".

IMAX Screening At Azkatraz

Many people's plans were thrown into disarray by the delay of Half-Blood Prince until next summer. But when one door shuts, another opens - HP Fan Trips announced this evening that they have secured a cast member from Equus to participate in an exclusive workshop following the included performance; and Azkatraz has announced plans for an exclusive IMAX screening of Half-Blood Prince, which now conveniently coincides with their conference in 2009.

Even though the Half-Blood Prince movie has been rescheduled for July 2009, merchandise featuring images from the movie are still being produced. The 2009 calendar featuring images of Bellatrix, Slughorn, and many more have hit the net. Also, Tonner Doll Collection have released a new Luna doll in their fall/holiday collection.

SyFy Genre Awards

Warner Bros. sues Indian producer

A Mumbai-based producer/distributor has been sued by Warner Bros. for the title of its upcoming film Hari Puttar - A Comedy of Terrors, which they believe is a too similar to Harry Potter. Hari Puttar, a comedy that centres on a 10-year-old Indian boy whose family moves to England, is slated for a September 12th release.



Head of dyspraxia group thanks Dan

Harry and the Potters posted two new blog entries entitled "Unlimited Enthusiasm is Over|THANK YOU!" and "Wizards and Muggles Rock for Social Justice Vol. 2 OUT NOW!".

Roger Davies is starting a vlog. You can check out more info in his blog... yes, he loves rhymes.

Wizard and Witchcraft Entertainment have posted a blog entitled "Wizard Weekend Stage Schedule" outlining, you guessed it, the schedule for the Wizard Weekend. Check out HP EVENTS section here on the front page for the dates and location of the event.



What About The Videogame?

When asked how the new release date for the Half-Blood Prince film would affect the videogame, an Electronic Arts spokesperson told HPFZ, "We are making a great game that Harry Potter fans will really enjoy... we are evaluating the impact of the movie date change." The game was (and still is) slated to be released November 13th in the US and November 14th worldwide.



Rupert says kissing Emma would be like snogging his sister

While most boys would give their right arm for a kiss with Emma Watson, Rupert Grint has revealed that he is terrified of locking lips with her. "The kiss will be quite uncomfortable," the Sun quoted him as saying. "Emma's like a sister to me so it's going to be, like, really, really weird."

HBP Release Date Pushed Back!

Warner Bros. announced yesterday that the release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been moved from November 21, 2008 to July 17, 2009. Warner Bros. feels that the move will benefit the series by bringing in more viewers being in the summer - of the previous HP films, the summer release out-grossed the winter releases. This coupled with the effects of the writer's strike and next summer's schedule prompted the move.

Are You 18-24 Years Old & Want To Participate In An HP Survey?

FSU is looking for volunteers to take part in a study seeking to identify reasons why young readers are motivated to read the Harry Potter books (not why adults think kids read them). If you were born between 1984 and 1990 and read all seven Harry Potter books as they were released beginning in 1999, then click here to take part in this two part survey. Part 1 consists of an online survey data collection running now through August 31, 2008; Part 2 will be an interview via phone or internet with volunteers selected from those submitting completed Phase 1 surveys to be done in September 2008. You can email Colette Drouillard at Drouillard@ci.fsu.edu to receive a summary of these results.

One Step Closer To The Invisibility Cloak

The structure of the material bends visible light in a way that ordinary materials cannot.

Beetle The Bard To Be Published

It has been announced that The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the set of fairy tales J.K. penned and illustrated herself, will be published on December 4, 2008. Both editions of the book will include commentary from Professor Dumbledore.



Ministry of Magic decrees appear outside of HP theme park

Ministry of Magic decrees have appeared on construction walls for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida. The first one says, "Magic at work. Your patience is requested." Also, Universal Orlando has just posted new concept art on the WWoHP website for the Three Broomsticks pub and a new poll asking which magical refreshment you would prefer to order - Butterbeer is the current overwhelming choice over Pumpkin Juice.

As an added note, you may notice on the website that the opening is now listed as 2010 and any mention of the previously stated 2009 opening date has been removed.

IBM creates working Pensieve
