SHARE YOUR RELEASE PICS & STORIES

From the Editor:

Last night brought us the US release of Half-Blood Prince and don't forget that July 29th will be the US release of Half-Blood Prince in IMAX - with exception to three select theatres who will release IMAX today: AMC Loews Lincoln Square IMAX Theatre, New York, NY; AMC Century City 15 & IMAX, Los Angeles, CA; and Omnimax at Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, IL (this location will NOT be in 3-D). If you have pictures you took at a midnight movie release you would like to share, send your pics to Marauder at marauder at myway.com and they will be added to The Gallery, which is now re-opened. Also, tell us about the event you attend. We want to hear all your Potterholic tales of the release event you attended. Share your stories with us HERE. Note - you do not have to log in to post your story.

LACK OF A/C DOESN'T STOP POTTER FANS

From WizardNews.com :

At a midnight screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Woodland Hills, CA, the air conditioning broke down and was not functioning at all during the entire course of the movie, but fans stayed quiet and nobody left early, even though the heat in the auditorium was getting uncomfortable by time the movie was half through. About three quarters of the way through the movie, ushers distributed trays of cups of ice, which seemed to lessen the effects of the heat a bit. After the movie, ushers gave free movie passes to all the patrons as they were leaving. There were lots of wizards in the audience, dressed in Hogwarts house colors, and carrying wands. You'd think one of them could have fixed the air conditioning!

VATICAN PRAISES HARRY POTTER

From WizardNews.com :

The Vatican has given Harry Potter a surprising seal of approval. In a review of Half-Blood Prince, the official Vatican newspaper said the film made clear the difference between "good and evil". In the past, Harry had been criticised by senior figures in the Catholic Church concerned about its focus on witchcraft.
